Online Safety

What is a Privacy Policy?

A privacy policy tells you how a Website deals with your personal information. It will tell you what kind of information is collected (like your email address, your last name, or your address), how it will be used (perhaps to send e-cards or to enter a contest) and whether it will be shared with other people. Read the Summer Reading Club Privacy Policy.

External Links

The Summer Reading Club site contains links to other websites which are controlled and maintained by others. The Summer Reading Club makes every effort to ensure external website links are to reputable and safe sites for children and young people. Learn what to do if you find objectionable or offensive material on a Summer Reading Club link.

Summer Reading Club Participation Guidelines

The Summer Reading Club respects the privacy of children and works hard to maintain a safe online environment for them to engage in. The Summer Reading Club Participation Guidelines are also known as the Terms & Conditions. We provide these terms and conditions so that everyone knows the rules for entering and participating in the online Summer Reading Club activities and competitions. Be sure to ask your parents to review these with you.

Read the SRC Online Activities: Terms & Conditions.

Please Note: Children must be 13 or over to post content/enter online competitions to the Summer Reading Club website without parental consent. Children who are 12 and under who want to post content/enter online competitions require parental consent.

Website Publishing

How do I post my work to the website?

To post your pictures to the Gallery, use the Upload a Photo or Upload a Drawing form.

To post your comments, book raves, and writing submissions, use the SRC Postbox form. Once you have entered your details, you can choose the activity you want to post your work to.

Why won’t the SRC Postbox form upload my picture/file?

Picture or file size cannot be larger than 2MB. If your picture is too big, try to reduce its size in a photo editing application such as Adobe Photoshop.

Why does the SRC Postbox form ask for my mailing address?

The address fields will only appear for those Club Members who enter their work into the prize competitions.

If you are a winner of a prize, you will be notified by email and your prize will be sent to the address provided.
